Looking for any information on John THOMAS of Philadelphia, PA. Served in the Hastings' Keystone Battery (Artillery) during the Civil War in defense of Washington, D.C.. Married 3 times 1) Mary Francis ______ who died 1883; 2) Ida R. _____ who died 1887 and Edith Belson CRIPPS who died in 1900. John had 5 children:, John Jr. & Mary by 1st wife; George Vail THOMAS by 2nd wife and David & Lydia THOMAS by 3rd wife. John was an Iron Moulder and he died of cancer in 1905. John and Edith were my Great Great Grandparents. John Thomas pension file lists his 2 youngest children (David & Lydia) and his mother-in-law, Lydia B. Cripps as guardian. John's daughter, Lydia, was the partner of Leslie Wheeling SALSBURY(1886-1928). All information from the Philadelphia area.
