I am not sure about parents, but I do have some information on someone I am searching for that might help you -- George Thibaut born in 1859 in France. He was married and he lost his wife in an accident where she fell off of a balcony. His occupation was fine wines - does this match up with anything that you have discovered? Thanks for your time.

THANKS FOR REPLY. NO, OUR GEORGE THIBAUT WAS BELGIUM BORN: HIS WIFE, GERMAIN, CAME TO AMERICA WITH THE 2 SONS, CHRISTIAN & DANIEL.

GERMAIN PASSED AWAY ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO IN IL: CHRIS DIED 12 DEC 02 IN S BEND INDIANA. I UNDERSTAND THAT 2 HALF BROTHERS EXIST IN BRUSSELS BUT THERE HAS BEEN NO CONTACT FOR YEARS.

THANKS AGAIN

PS: GEORGE WAS A CHESS MASTER

I have an August THIBAUT, born in Belgium abt. 1862-1863, who immigrated to the U.S. abt. 1875, according to the 1910 Washington Census. He was 48 years of age at the time of the census. Living just next door to August in Ravensdale, King Co. WA is one Leander THIBAUT, age 49. They were both coal miners by trade. Leander was killed in a mine explosion at Ravensdale in 1915. Since the surname and country of origin is the same, I'm wondering if there may be a connection with your George.

Thanks so much for answering: alas, our George lived and died in Brussels: his 2 sons, Christian and Daniel, along with their mother, came to IL in 1957. Thanks again for answering.
