Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA
William N. Theakston is William Norgraves who was married to Abigail Moore in July of 1878. They are my great-great grandparents.
Please feel free to e-mail if you need anything I may have.

Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA
Hi Lea,
My interest in the Theakstons is two-fold.
First, in reference to William N. buried at Highland Brethren, I'm doing research on the Brethren families at Ten Mile & Highland Brethren. Might you be able to help me with that, especially the Highland Brethren families (the earliest members). My ancestors helped build Ten Mile COB. I'm curious if any of my ancestors went to Highland when the "split" happened in the 1880s.
Thank you for Abbie's maiden name. On some of the graves, there is no info for wives' ancestry.
My second interest is through my LANE family. Willis William Theakston married Vesta Lane, who was my great aunt. Uncle Bill and and Vesta, as well as Vesta's brother and sister (my grandmother) are deceased now. I need to get some info on the Theakston ancestors for this line. Have you heard these names before and can you help me?

Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA
I'm not so sure about the Highland Brethren connection, but I do have the information on Vesta and Willis. Willis is the grandson of Abigail and William Norgraves. I have the information on a free site. www.tribalpages.com. The username to get into the site is llosco Most of the info came from a large family tree that my Dad bought from the Johnson family in the 70's. It was researched pretty well and may give you a start in your search.

Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA
Thank you for the website link. I'm curious: why is Vesta's name left off as Willis's wife? Or was the data shown on the website just the info from Mr. Johnson? If you want Vesta's info, let me know.
Do you link to or have more information about the Johnson family? I keep looking to see IF Johnson was related to LANE.
By the way, one of my LANEs way back was married to a MOORE so you've shown me another Moore connection.
Thanks!
Judy

Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA
I had Vesta marked as living. The site won't show information of those who are still living. I fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out.

From the Westland Cemetery register William H. Theakston' father was J. and mother was C. That's all I have. Hope this helps.

Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA
Hi Debbie,
LTNS.
I wondered if you are related to the Ross's also in that area? My Theakston connection is through Ross, and through Lane, but I haven't unraveled much on the Ross family.

Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA
Hi Judy, Good to hear from you. I only have about 4 Ross's in my file and 2 of them I don't have first names for so I don't think I'll be much help on that end. Deb

Re: THEAKSTON, Washington Co., PA - new websites
I didn't think to mention, I have a new website for Washington Co PA (two actually). "Little Washington" - Washington Co PA is at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~florian/index.htmLook for "Who's Who" - middle of the page -- to access old newspaper items. Or, use the Site Map, or on-site searches. I put up a page of THEAKSTON newspaper items recently. On-site search will bring up names in whatever file they are located. Also have "Life in Washington Co PA 1700s to present" at http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~florian/index.htmSome interesting things there too. I'm trying to describe towns, Deb, so if you want to contribute anything, it'd be great! I've been away from Washpa too long so I don't know what's in some towns now. TTYL, Judy
