I just found out that my gg grandmother was Harriet Theaker. Harriet was born in Belton in Axholme, Lincolnshire, England around 1824. She married Charles Gillatt, a farmer, and had 3 children with him. Their youngest, Mary Gillatt, my great grandmother. Harriet died before the 1851 census, however. Charles was listed as a widower residing in Belton with his 3 young children (Mary was only 9 months old). Charles did remarry prior to the 1861 census and had other children.
Interestingly, the Theakers are one of 4 of the original families of Belton in Axholme. They date back to prior to 1699. Harriet's father was Samuel; Samuel the son of Thomas; Thomas the son of Thomas; Thomas the son of Thomas. All were born / christened in Belton in Axholme.

Hello,
I have a Harold Theaker buried in the Shelburne Cemetary. He farmed in Dufferin County, Ontario, Canada and died in the 1970's. Any relation?
