Hello. I know that it is several years later, but did you ever get an answer? Clara was my aunt.....my father's sister.

I should further elaborate: Clara's married name was Cochran. You husband's stepfather was either Richard or Buddy...I don't remember Buddy's real name. The great grand parents were John and Catherine Fitzgerald. They are both buried in St. Joseph's cemetery just south of Columbus, on US 23, as are many other family members. Please contact me for further info, if you haven't already found it.

Richard is my first cousin. I haven't seen him since Clara's funeral, but I see and talk to his sisters quite often. When we were young, he was one of my favorite relatives. I can probably answer some of your questions...my maiden name is Theado. Clara was one of eight children: Marie, Harold, Helen, a sister who's name I can't remember, John, Clara, Joseph, and Al. (I think I have them in the right order) Joe was my dad. Joe and Al were twins. Catherine died when the twins were two years old, and the younger children were put into an orphanage (still there in Columbus) for about 5 years. Harold became a Catholic priest, and lived in the Chicago area. Uncle John fought in WWII, and was injured in the Battle of the Bulge. I have some information about John and Catherines parents, but I am at work....it is at home. I have a cousin Betty Barbour, of Port Tobacco, Maryland, (Marie's daughter) who has done extensive work on our family tree. I could put you in touch with her if you like. Also, Richard's sisters, in particular Shirley, have much of the information, they live near Columbus..Shirley lives on the west side of Columbus.

My wife is Grace Theado. Her family was from Columbus orginally. Her dad was Albert John Theado 1916-1972.

My wife is a Theado from Ohio. She goes back to 1880 and John Theado. From there, I believe they were from Bavaria.

You would be correct, we even having living relatives in Regensburg (More specifically, Lappersdorf, I believe). I'm the granddaughter of Joseph Perry Theado, and I can attest to Johns involvement in WW2. He was a member of the 187th Field Artillery ARNG, injured in the Battle of the Bulge during their withdrawal from Basse-Bodeux, Belgium under fire from the 2nd SS Panzer (This is obtained from a fellow unit veterans memoir you can find at the Cuyahoga County library). My grandfather was a corporal in the USMC and deployed in Korea (Can't remember his unit, sadly). He's currently interred at Sunset Cemetery on West Broad street in Columbus, next to his wife Wanda. I don't know anything about John, other then what my grandfather told me and the few references I've found amongst military records, but shortly before he passed, he gave me Johns Ronson lighter with the unit heraldry on it.
