I am also descended from Blake Baker Thackston and have written a Thackston History, now under revision. To answer your queston simply, There was a Lancelot Thexton, born in Bawtry, Yorkshire, M. A. from Cambridge, who was a sometime chaplain to Edward VI. He later became rector of Trunch in Norfolk County, England, and a member of the Bishop of Norwich's Council. He and his descendents were rectors of Trunch for over 150 years. He was awarded a coat of arms under the name of Lancelot Thackston, but all other references spell it Thexton, which was common in Norfolk. The spelling in Yorkshire was usually Theakston. No Englishmen came to Norfolk, Virginia, in the 1500s. The first English settlement was in Jamestown in 1607.
