I am looking for any information on the history of this name. I was given this name by my mother who was given away at birth has No knowledge of it's origin.

Surnames: Thackston Thaxton
The name Thackston is derived from the village in England now called Theakston, earlier Thekeston. It means someone from this village. It was Derived from the Saxon "Thoedic's Tun" which meant the farm or clearing of (probably) Theodoric. You can look this up in any reference on English surnames.
