My maternal grandfather was Clinton Thackery Fippin and I am sure he is the son "Clinton T" that you wrote about. He married my grandmother, Mary Etta Hollenbach, born 1894, and they had one daughter,my mother, Florence Jane Fippin on 03/25/1914. He and my grandmother divorced when my mother was small. Clinton worked at Ohio State University. He remarried and I believe he had 2 more children, William who became a physician and I think his daughter's name was Audrey? My grandmother, Mary Etta remarried and her surname became "Dumm" but he later passed away. My mother and grandmother lived in Bexley OH for a while. They later moved to Ashland KY. My grandmother moved back to Columbus and Reynoldsburg Ohio after my mother remarried to my father Omer A Boggs(she had had a short marriage producing one child, my half brother, to Minor Wilson before leaving Columbus.) My grandmother Mary Etta died in 1962 as a result of a traffic accident in Columbus OH. I was born in 1955 and Clinton had already passed and I never got to know him. I am very interested in the ancestry on his side of the family. It seems I remember my mother saying there were some Flynns and maybe Slones or Sloans on his side as well, as grandparents. Clinton was very small in stature, maybe 5'2" to 5'4". My grandmother, Mary Etta was only 4'11" as was my mother, Florence Jane Fippin. I believe Clinton died of a heart attack but unfortunately, I do not know the date. I may be able to ask my older brothers to see what they know about him. I do have a good picture of him with my mother and grandmother @ 1917? I would love to hear back. I am Deborah Jackson of Lexington Ky.

Deborah, you have made my day. Please contact me at
peery18@hotmail.com -- I have the Thackaras back to Eng-
land (Durham) and quite a bit on the Fippins as well.
Clinton's parents were James Fippin and Mattie Thackara,
the sister of my g-grandmother Tirzah Thackara White.
Their father F.J. Thackara died in the Civil War, and their
mother remarried, to Daniel Jackson Flinn, which is where
that name comes from.

I'm Sharon Peery in Richmond, Virginia.
