HI,
I am also a decendent of John Augustus "Captain Jack" Texada. He was my great great great grandfather - whew! My great great grandfather was Louis Texada. Please note, John Texada had two sons named Louis. The oldest (Lewis Emanual Texada) was born to his first wife Lucy Welch (who was white). After Lucy passed away, the other Louis Texada and his younger brother Irving (or Irvin) were born to Mary Butler (who was black). I am a decendent of the black Louis Texada. Please feel free to contact me and maybe we can compare notes to complete our family trees.

I am a descendant of Joseph Texada, son of Don Manuel Garcia de Tejada. I am the 2nd great granddaughter of Joseph's daughter, Virginia who married William Case. They lived in the Bayou Chene, Louisiana community which sadly no longer exists as a community. There are a lot of descendants from this line.
