I am looking for anyone who has information on the five Tewksbury brothers, Fredrick, Henry, Ira B., Benjamine F. and Calvin (Sons of Ephriam) who were in the Union Army during the Civil War. I am a descendant of Ira. I have some information on Benjamine and his family.

Another of the respected names among the older of our residents has fallen from its place among the living. Mrs. Annis Cochran Tewksbury finished this life on the eve3ning of Oct. 13th. Born in Noventer, 1808, married on her twentieth birthday to Amos W. Tewksbury, she has survived him a little more than four years. Her life like that of her honored husband was filled up and crowned with practical and increasing usefulness. Tho her years were amny, yet were they all to the last made fruitful by a mother's inventive activity. She always had something to do with hand and heart. Even since obliged to keep to her home, her life, and her labors and her interests have reached far into the outside world. Her nature sensitively solicitous for the welfare of otheres easily took the griefs and burdens of each of her family circle to herself, and as she lived these over, they were sure to find a comforter in her. Accustomed for a greater part of her life to suffering, she knew how to sympathize with those who suffer; and in the grace of Him to whom she trusted herself, the intense hours of pain which attended her last sickmess were borne with triumphant patience and quietness. Sharing with her husband in his religious views, experiences and convictions she long years ago gave the Church of Christ a large place in her affection and labors. Together they wrought for a full half century in His vineyard and in fellowship with God's people, and now together they "rest from their labors and their works do follow them. Practing in her charities the precept to let not the left hand know what the right hand doeth, there will be more than one to rise up and call her blessed. Few lives close under circumstances more comforting to a mothers heart. For several years she has been surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren, herself the center of their love, esteem and attention. They came often to her home and during the open months of the year she has been able to visit theirs. During her two months illness, in which almost form the commencement, there were reasons to fear that this might be her last, she had opportunity to speak to each of them the last things which a mother treasures in her heart of hearts for her own,.. The wish of her heart and life which ofthen formed itself into her prayer wile with them will be a good one for the children of her live as now they miss a mothers voice and presence.
From pain and care
Oh Lord I seek not to be free:
But this is my prayer
Open my eyes to see that Thou art leading me
Then I can bnear
To walk in darkness still,
Walking with Thee, submissive to Thy will,
Home is more near,
Oh Lord, by every passing day.
Home is more dear,
By every prayer I pray, by each step of the way.
That brings me there.
Where Thou art, let me be!
For wehre Thou art, is home and heaven to me.
