Hi

I’m looking for the descendents of Josiah Tewksbury and Lena Haynes. They were married in Illinois in 1862, then moved to New Hampshire. Afterwards they lived in various places. Josiah died in Missouri.

I am a direct descendant of Josiah and Lena. They were my great, great-grandparents. Their daughter, Lida, was my grandmother, Irene's, mother, Irene's daughter, Helen, is my mother. How are you connected with this line?

Sorry to have taken so long to reply. I am descended from Sylvester Haynes and his first wife Susan Griffin through their daughter (my great great grandmother) Sarah Abigail Haynes. She was Lena Tewksbury’s half sister.

Yes, Sarah Abigail Haynes was Sylvester's fourth child. Share your descendancy (sp?) please. I know Sarah had eight children. Do you have a copy of "A Brief History of the Sylvester Haynes Family" by Meryl D. Haynes (June 1930)? If not, I would be happy to photocopy it for you. It's not a large publication, but it is packed with information. If you would like a copy, send me your snail mail address.

In your research have you come across jacob perry Tewksbury? 1850 Census shows he is born about 1829 in New Hampshire. 1860 he is married to Olivia, and living in Kansas Territory. 1870 in Bloomington Illinois and 1880 he is listed as J.P. Tooksher, in Topeka Kansas. I am trying to locate other members of family, I do have other information about him, including obit and cemetery.

I have information on the ancestry of Jacob Perry Tewksbury born 13 Jul 1820. I do not have any information on a spouse, children nor descendants. If you have any questions please contact me and I would be interested in exchange of information.
