All of my Tivis' are Afric-Amer and have a connection through Sally Tivis (?spelling) who lived in Cadiz (Trigg County), Kentucky.
Sally was born about 1860-1880. Her family moved back to Midland sometime. Are there connections out there to Tivis' or similar names in Midland, PA ?????

Could her father's name be Edward? from Wisconsin?

My grandmother was Anita Tews, Ed's sister...and have not found relatives, so thought
that possibly spelling changed and I have been searching in vain...have been told that there are Tew's
relatives here in Dallas, Tx., but have not found them as of yet...

Left Germany (Munich) around 1870 (I think). Moved to Argentina. My branch moved from there to Australia around 1973.
Investigation by my father revealed that family moved from England to Hannover around 1300, and to Munich sometime after that.
For your info, there is a village named Tewes close by Munich.

We are related to the Tewes from Texas and we're from Belize. My brother, Ron, wrote earlier. Our family came to the US from Germany around 1847 or 57 and the port of entry was New York. We have a copy of the ship's register.

My grandmother Beryl Woods was your grandmothers sister Daisy Woods. I am looking for any information you may have on the Woods and the Tewes.

Do you know why your grandfather moved to Belize and the islands?
