Yes, this is the same one. Uncle Otis was my great-uncle. Dovie Josephine Tew was his sister, and my grandmother. Did you know that Uncle Otis died?

Hi Jack,

I'm Chrisanna Tew Dao. I live in Lutz, Florida right outside of Tampa. My father was Tony Wayne Tew and was born in Lakeland. He passed away in 2000 before I could get the history of his family. He was the only child of Wyatt Tew and Gladys Cochran Tew of Tampa, FL.

Before my grandmother passed away in 1998, I found out that my father was actually the child of Perryman Tew and a woman named Ruth Goodman. My grandmother confirmed this but had never told my father who his birth parents were. I understand that Perryman passed away around 1972. My father became ill shortly after he found out the news of his birth parents and did not have the time to research his ancestory prior to his passing. This is something that has weighed heavy on my mind and I would like to find more information if possible. All I really know about my fathers side of the family is what I've conveyed in this email and that his father was Wyatt Tew, his birth father was Perryman Tew and that the family came from the Slocum, Dothan area of Alabama. I remember the name Muncie Tew and going to Aunt Aubry's house in Plant City Florida. Today is my first experience with Ancestry so I have not done any further family research other than finding your message. I can be reached at TewDao2009@yahoo.com and look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

Both Wyatt and Perryman were sons of Jasper Alexander and Margaret Solone Austin Tew. Willie Perryman was born 25 Jan 1899 and Wyatt Austin 25 Jul 1911. Muncie Wendell was their younger brother, born 24 Oct 1914. Jasper was the son of Joseph Sylvester and Sarah Ann Reeder Tew. All are descended from "Preacher" John and Patience Blackman Tew, who moved from Sampson Co, NC, to Alabama in the early 1820's.
