Shadrach Tevis, Missouri Tevis
I have found the following records (based on ancestry.com transcriptions):
Shadrach Tevis (b. 1827) in District 79, St Clair, MO with his wife Eveline (b. 1832) in the 1850 census.
S M Livis (b. 1827) in Township 45 Range 17, Moniteau, MO with wife Eveline (b. 1832) in the 1860 census.
S M Louis (b. 1827) in Mill Creek, Morgan, MO with wife Susan (b. 1840 Missouri) in the 1870 census.
Shedrack M. Tinis (b. 1827) in Precinct 6, Montague, TX with wife Susan (b. 1845 Ireland per ancestry.com, but census seems to say she is 39 yrs old ) in the 1880 census.
The children in these census records match very well if you read the full census records and I have long suspected Shadrack's daughter married Benjamin Hill Wall (who is in the same town as Shedrack and family in the 1880 census). Given that the spelling for these families appears different in each census, I am having difficulty confirming the true last name. But the coincidences with children names and ages looks too strong to think these are different families.
Has anyone done more thorough research on this family? Can anyone verify that this is the same family? (I can provide the full children names and ages if it would help, but thought that was too much to type here).

Re: Shadrach Tevis, Missouri Tevis
I have some documents I can send you (or anyone else who is interested) that may be of interest, including a photograph with Ben H Wall and wife Mary M. Tivis. You may have already seen them, though, because at least some of these documents were apparently sent to me through a chain of people that began with the son of Beulah Pearl.
The documents include:
1. photo of newspaper clipping regarding the move of Ben H and Mary M to Nocona, TX. Date and name of paper unknown, but it was after 1912.
2. Excerpt on history of James Wall, with information on Ben H Wall and Mary M., from book on history of Montague Cty, TX.
3. Photo of Wall family, with Ben H and Mary M (and kids). Some of the photo has been labeled, though the labeling was probably done from memory many many years after the photo (which was pre-1912) was taken.
I have let my Ancestry membership slip so cannot contact you individually, but if you email me through Ancestry, I can send you these documents.

Re: Shadrach Tevis, Missouri Tevis
I would be very interested in the information and photos you have. I have not seen them, I'm sure. My father is deceased (Bill Sanders),son of Julian Albert Sanders and Beulah Pearl Wall. I was never told very much about my great-grandfather Ben H. Wall and great-grandmother Beulah Pearl. I have never seen pictures of my g-grandfather etc.I don't know if you can contact me directly or not at my hotmail.com address. I use Ginger97015 there too.

Re: Shadrach Tevis, Missouri Tevis
My maternal grandfather was Lewis Lycurgis Tevis born in Moniteau County, Missouri. He died in 1926 in Pettis County, Missouri. My mother was Mary Elizabeth Tevis Alexander she died in 1999. Shadrach is kinfolk - I have Mary Bell's book on the Tevis family, she was here in Missouri several times getting information and I am quoted in her book. There are still a few Tevis' in the area and Longwood Cemetery is full of relatives. Mary Bell is in the process of writing another book on the Tevis family. Would be glad to exchange information with you on the Tevis family.

Re: Shadrach Tevis, Missouri Tevis
I would very much be interested in any photos or information about my grandmother's family.. I do know that my grandmother's mother and father died while my grandmother was still very young, apparently she lived with first one sister and then another while she was growing up. I was told that she stayed with them to help out on their farms and homes for her room and board etc. Contact me either thru this site or through my hotmail.com address. Address it to Ginger97015.

Re: Shadrach Tevis, Missouri Tevis
Shadrack was a brother to my greatgrandfather, Hebrew Tevis.Their father, Snoden and wife, are buried in an old cemetery in Tipton, Missouri. I do have pictures of my husband trying to dig out his tombstone. Shadrack M. Tevis was Born 1826/1827 in Missouri, he died 5 May 1891 in Moniteau County, Missouri, married ca 1849 to Eveline Dallas Moore 2nd marriage to Susan ca1849. History: He was the 3rd son of Snoden and Susannah (Morris) Tivis and was born in 1826/27 in Missouri. His parents left KY. shortly before he was born, as the brother who was 1 yr. older was born in KY. Shadrack must have been named for his uncle Shadrack Morris who married Rebecca Tevis, his father's sister. Since his aunt and uncle left KY for MO and located in Cooper Co., the younger Shadrack must have known his uncle. It would seem, however, that the young Shadrack was not fond of his name, as he used his initials S.M. in adult life. This was a fairly common practice in that period of history. S.M. was the middle son of the three brothers who used the surname of Tivis. Although the other 4 brothers adopted the more popular spelling of Tevis, Silas, Shadrack, and Hammond retained the variation which had been used by their father. S.M. became a farmer like his father and brothers. Staying in Moniteau County in his early adult years, he lived on a farm not far from where he had lived as a child. He was married twice, and neither record of marriage was found. His first wife was Eveline Dallas Moore and the marriage occurred about 1849, as their first child was born in Feb of 1850. Eveline was born in MO in 1831 or 1832 of undknown parents. S.M. and Eveline sold land 11 Jan 1864, and she may have died soon after that date, but no record has been found. S.M. enlisted in the Confederate army, serving as a private in Company H of the 9th Regiment of the Missouri infantry. After being paproled following his surrender to the federal forces at the conclusion of the war,S.M. married Susan about 1868. Little is known about Susan. She was born 20 Mar 1846 in Ireland. The first child of s.m. and Susan was born in 1869 at Joplin, MO, but no records were found in Joplin. S.M. and Susan were in Montague County, Texas in 1880. They went to Texa;s sometime after the birth of their second child in April of 1875. The only son of S.M. and Eveline accompanied his father and stipmother to Tesas, but there is not record that any of his 4 sisters left MO. Rebecca Ann had married in 1876 and remained in MO., but no information was found about the other 3 daughters. S.M. returned to MO and Moniteau County about 1889. He spent the laslt 2 years of hsi life living with his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and David F. Henry. About the same time that S.M. left TX. for MO., Susan and their son went to OK., The first child had married in 1885. S.M. died 5 May 1891 in Moniteau County. Susan lived until 28 Feb. 1915, when she died in OK in Carter County. She was buried in the northeast section of the Tussy Cemetery in Carter County. The children of S.M. and Eveline were born in MO, probably in Moniteau County.
