carrie mefford born10-20-1898 died 2-17-1983 was my great grandmother buried at Red Oak Cemetary outside Canadian Oklahoma. Asa born 7-23-1890 died 12-24-1965 also buried at Red Oak. Adren Lee (Ade) born 5-12-1892 died 3-8-1978 buried at Crowder Cemetary. There are also 4 half-brothers & sisters Nancy Ellen, Lewis, Rosa, Wallace S. Their father Isaiah Tivis Mefford is also buried at Oddfelows Cemetary right next to Red Oak Cemetary. Hi, I read your posting on Isiah Tivis Mefford, and I will visit the cemetary, Carrie Mefford was My G aunt, married to Abner Eldridge, they had son's named Jake, Wilford, and Irland, a daughter named Ione, still living. thanks Cora

Nathan and Polly moved to Pike County Missouri. Their daughter, Julia, married Thomas Jefferson Jackson. They were my ggg grandparents.

You must mean Mary TEVIS (1788 - 1860+) who married Nathan MEFFORD (1790 - 1858) & had Julia Ann MEFFORD (ca. 1810, Mason Co., KY - 1859, Schuyler, MO) who m. Thomas Jefferson JACKSON (ca. 1805, KY - 10 Sep. 1870, Missouri City, Ft. Bend, TX).

Peter TEVIS m. ca. 1778, prob. Baltimore Co., MD, Catherine _. They had four children born in Maryland before they moved to Mason Co., KY, where Peter TEVIS bought land 30 June 1792. When Peter died, by 1802, the three youngest sons were apprenticed, T. Snowden & Isaiah to become blacksmiths, and Rowland, a hatter.
