James David (Dave) TetersZANESVILLE: James David (Dave) Teters, 80, of Zanesville, Ohio passed on surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 22, 2014 after a brief stay at The Oaks at Bethesda.
He was born on November 1, 1933 in Hoskinsville, Ohio (Noble County) a son of the late David (Wib) and Ethel (Murrey) Teters.
A man born a premie with many other medical issues and not expected to live the drive home from the hospital to a rough and challenging childhood.
Not able to finish school because he was needed to work to help support the family goes on to marry the girl of his dreams and once again rough times meet them as a young couple.
But they persevere to raise a family that grows to the loving family it is today because of the values and traits of this hard working man.
A man that gave wisdom that he didn't know he was giving, a man that instilled spirituality by example, and a man that graduated to heaven with his loving family surrounding him.
He was retired from Rockwell International after 35 years of service.
He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local Union #1037.
During the same time he was operating the family farm.
In his retirement years he was the owner and operator of Dave's Stump Grinding.
He enjoyed buying and selling farm equipment and was a member of Meadow Farm Church and the Timber Run Grange.
He is survived by his wife Wava J. Teters; one son David A. Teters of Zanesville; one daughter Nora (Dean) Holtsclaw of St. Clairsville, Ohio; six grandchildren Jennifer (Jeff), Stephen (Tonya), Matthew (Windham), Aaron, Sarah, and Travis; three great-grandchildren Adam, Colin, and Luke.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son James Albert Teters; one brother Ward Teters; one daughter-in-law Pam Teters.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage, OH.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Meadow Farm Church where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Paul Ashbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery. (Falls Township) Muskingum County, OH
