I descended from this line, too, through Jesse Walker. I'm looking for supporting evidence of the marriage of Barbara and Joseph, as well as evidence that Jesse was their son. I have a public tree and have attached what information I have. I tried to apply to the DAR through this line but my application was rejected due to lack of supporting evidence as described in this paragraph. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. Thanks,Gaye

There is a lot of information on the Dieter/Henckle line out there, but be careful! There are 2 John George Dieter/Teter trees are are not correct.I descend from Samuel Teter and Mary Doddridge, which is NOT the Dieter/Henkle tree. There is a Y-dna group if anyone is interested in seeing the dna results that show scientific evidence about our ancestors. We are always looking for more male Teter descendents to participate. The test is simple-a swab of the inner cheek, and a fee for processing. Please come join our group.

I am looking for information on a Georg (Jerg) Dieter and his brother, Sebastian Dieter, who came to America from Schwaigern in 1738/39. The Dieters changed their name to Teter after arrival. There were several Georg Teters living in VA at that time, which is confusing. I understand that both Georg and Sebastian had died by 1743-45.

Hi Jill,

I am also in the process of researching the Teter family. My husband is Duane Teter and his father was Lester Marion Teter. His half brother, Gary Teter, mentioned that there was a book on all of the Teter ancestry. I have yet to come across this and have lost touch with Gary. I just started everything again, so I'm hoping to get a little further along this time around. A lot of the Teters are in Morgantown and Martinsburg, WV. How are you related? There doesn't seem to be much information available. My daughter has some information too which I'll try to retrieve.

My father had three siblings: Naomi, Carl, Jr., and Philip. They are all deceased. I have two brothers: Tracy and Robert. My father often spoke of a native American grandmother who told fortunes.

I do not know anything about White Oak Bottom. But I am also the 5G granddaughter of Barbara Teter and Joseph Walker. I am descended from their son Martin. I would love to speak to you about this branch of the family.
