My name is christopher teter, I was born in Dallas, Oregon 03/01/1980.... My father is charles ray teter and his fathers name is William Teter and my dad's mother's name is Janet (maiden: Barton). unfortunately that's all I know about the teter's, other than that, I have heard I am related to a lot of Teter's in West Virginia but I do not know names or any relatives in west virginia. My Father is still alive and my grandfather and grandmother passed away some time ago. My father still lives in Oregon and my grandfather and grandmother still lived in Oregon when they passed away.

Hi Christopher,

I am married to Duane Teter. We live in Georgia now, but his father was Lester Marion Teter of Martinsburg, WV. He died when he was 38 years old (I believe 1955). I'm also trying to retrieve information about the Teter line since my husband doesn't know much about his family. There are a lot of Teter's in Martinsburg and Morganstown, WVA. Lester had a brother, Ernest Teter of Morganstown. Lester also had 2 other sons, Gary and Roger. Roger still lives in Morganstown and Gary lives in Florida. I just befriended Roger's wife on Facebook, so I'm going to try and see what info I can obtain. Ironically, Lester's mother's name was Ida Mae (Brown) and his father was William Teter. There may not be any relation, but there is always that possibility too. Stay in touch please. My email is tpteter@charter.net.

Hi, I am a Teter descendent also, but I am not sure I am related to you. There is a Teater, Teter, Teator and variant spellings of the name. At this point, there seem to be 2 John George Dieters who both came to the New World, circa 1720's. These two men have have their descendents so interwined, and must say incorrectly!, that it has been hard to distinguish. We do have a group if either of you would like to join...no fees, no requirements, just an interest in the Teter ancestors. Please feel free to email me directly.
