If you find out there from Tipton County, let me know, I'm looking for a lot of answers to a lot of questions. My great-grandfather was Oral V. Teter, he left my great grandmother with a child to raise on her own. My grandmother always told us he was dead, he actually didn't die until 1970.
Anyway I have about forty Teter's that I copied from a cemetery in the Tipton County area.

I have it back all the way to Germany, I just need help with connecting the ones in the cemetery. I'm not sure how to even approach any of the living family, if they even know about my grandmother. According to her birth record, her parents were not married and I never found a marriage record after her birth either. Her father (Oral Verne Teter) moved to Indianapolis about the same time she was born.

How nice to hear from you. I'm assuming you are in Tipton County, I'm here in Kokomo. I have always wanted to make contact with the family but didn't know how to go about it. Let me explain who I am, my grandmother was Carneta Teter Heavilin, the daughter of Pearl May Roe Oral Verne Teter. My family has always been curious about the Teter's but never pursued the family history. When my grandmother died in 1984, I found out some of her history, she never knew her father. This year through some research in Tipton, I discovered Pearl Oral were never married, and Oral left town sometime shortly before or after the birth of Carneta.
I have been able to piece together some of the family through the cemetery, obituaries, and I have Professor Kellogg's book. It sounds like you have a wonderful family with a great history in Tipton County. I am also researching to the Mahaffey's, Bitner's and Roe's in Tipton County. Please feel free to contact me at either Digging4Family@aol.com or LBell68686@aol.com, I would love to compare notes.
