Calling all Macon Co., Missouri Teter's!!
Hello! I am a descendant of George TETER and Anna Mary Margaret HENCKEL (various name spellings: HINKLE, HINKEL, HENKLE, and HENKEL) of Pendleton Co., (W)VA through their son Paul & his wife Anna WOOD. Most of Paul & Anna's children moved from Pendleton Co., (W)VA to Macon Co., MO in 1838. I would like to contact with others from this family. Paul & Anna's children and grandchildren were:
George m. Amelia (or Permilia?) GRIMES had Mark, Jemima, Saul, John Jehu, Aaron, Martha, Phoebe, Sarah Jane, Nancy, and Elizabeth Temperance. (Did move to Macon County, MO.)
Mary m. Richard KIRKENDALL in 1814. Have no further information on them and no idea if they stayed in Pendleton County or not.
Elizabeth m. John GEORGE and had at least one son named Reuben. Believed to have moved to Missouri, but unsure.
Phillip m. Rebecca GRIMES and had Elihu, Susan, Mary, Rebecca, Leah, Isaac, George M., Robert Grimes, Eleanor C., Elizabeth Ellen, William Henry (or Howard), Virginia Catherine, Bradford Oliver and Francis Louvisa. (Did move to Macon County, MO.)
Isaac m. Mary Magdeline CONRAD had Mahala Jane, Josiah, Annis, Isabelle, Philip, Isaac Jr., George Washington, Jacob Conrad, Mary Jane, James Knox Polk, and Elizabeth Catherine. (Did move to Macon County, MO.)
Leah m. Absalom DAY and had Sapphira, Ananius, Isaac, Felix, Susan Ann, Rebecca, Ahab, and Emily Frances. (Did move to Macon County, MO.)
Paul Jr. m. Sarah Ann PHARES and had Ephram, Manassas, Solomon, Cain, Paul, Anderson, Sarah A., Minnie J., Noah, Virginia Frances, and Eli Perry. (Did move to Macon County, MO.)
Nathan TETER never married, moved to Macon County, but died the same year at the age of 30.

George Teter and Anna Margaret Henkle wed about 1763 Augusta Co., Virginia
In the book "The Henckel Genealogy" by William Sumner Junkin and Minnie Wyatt Junkin, 1964, on page 195: "55 Anna Margaret HENKLE born April 30, 1741 Upper Milford Township, Bucks (now Lehigh) County, Pennsylvania; died about 1805 Pendleton County, Virginia (now West Virginia); married about 1763 Augusta (later Rockingham) County, Virginia (now Pendleton County, West Virginia) to George TETER (DIETER) Sr., born in Wurtemburg, Germany (Diary of Reverend Paul HENKEL as translated by George Schooling of Mt. Airy Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania); died in August 1798 near Macksville, Pendleton County, Virginia (now West Virginia). Parents of nine (9) children.
Note: Data of Professor Joseph Mitchell Kellogg and others indicate Anna Margaret HENKEL born December 9, 1738; died February 8, 1801; married George DIETER born March 9, 1739 probably on the Opequon Creek, Augusta County, Virginia (now Frederick County, Virginia); died August 1798 Pendleton County Virginia (now West Virginia). He was probably the son of John George and Margaret (LUDMAN) TETER (DIETER). This family came to the valley of Virginia with the migration of Jost HITE. The date of birth and baptism of three children of John George DIETER was found in the records of Reverend John Caspar STOEVER, a traveling Lutheran Minister, published in Egles Notes and Queries Volume for 1896, page 11."
For further information and detail see Henckel Genealogical Bulletin - Spring 1972, page 84-86, an extract of which is found in "Peterson (Biedert) Family Record" by Clyde S. Boots, self published in Isabel Kansas, 1976.

We married into the Teter family through the Dunn family. Do you have any info that we could share? Anything in Stookey Township?
