Hi- I thought I'd post this info here- the name in my family is TEITJEN>TEIGEN>TEACHEM and even morphed into TEACHER. I have been looking for info on my Teitjens, and just found it after seven years! Maybe this will be able to help someone else out there.
Henry Teitjen b. circa 1772 in Germany
d. 3-6-1846 in Washington DC
married: Susanna Carter? or Susan Ann Carter?
Children:
Mary H. Teitjen/Teachem married Henderson Fowler 1833 DC
Catherine Teechem married John Keithly 1833 DC
Robert J. Teachem/Teacher married Mary Nottingham1835 DC
Elizabeth Teachem married William S. Walker DC 1835
James H. Teachem married Ann E. Walker 1843 DC
Lucippia Ann Teitjen married William Thomas Jones 1845 DC
There may have been more children, but these are the only ones that I can find. Robert was born in 1811, and Lucippia Ann was born October 10, 1819. Their father Henry came to Washington DC in 1795. His house stood on the SE corner of third & Mstreets SE. He was the superintendent of the Law Sugar Refinery. He , his son Robert, and his daughter Lucippia are buried at Congressional Cemetery in Washington DC. Please feel free to email me with questions or information.
