I would love any info or connections regarding Nicola and Olympia Teta from Torella Dei Lombardi, Avellino, Italy in the 1870s. I believe they were farmers. They had at least 3 children - icola, Ferdinand and Guiseepina Maria (went by Ana) who married Michele (Michael) DeFilippis(a stone mason) of the same town. Michele and Anna moved to the Bronx, NY.

Maggie,
Richard Tate here. We were in contact a while back regarding the Teta's. I figured then we had a possible connection but wasn't sure. In the meantime I have come across info concerning the Teta's in Nusco.
The surname in Nusco is not very ancient, it was introduced soon after the Black Plague that spread in South Italy in 1656, a certain Guglielmo Teta coming from near the village of Torella dei Lombardi appears married and living in Nusco in 1659.
So I figure surely there must be a connection with our families. Thanks
