Hi I'm Derrick, I've been researching my family surname Teta. I may have some information of interest to others. My grandparents were Paul Teta and Elizabeth Gioseffi. They were born in the town of Candela, Foggia Italy. Paul was born in the year 1885,he migrated to the U.S.A in 1907 and died in 1950. Elisabeth was born in 1888 and died in 1950. Paul and Elizabeth had 6 sons and 4 daughters, all were born in Schenectady N.Y. with the exception of their oldest son Anthony who was born in Italy. As far as I known my grandfather had one brother Rocco, But I'm sure he had more than one sibling. My greatgrandfather was Raffaele Teta, I don't know much about him , only that he was born sometime in the middle 1800s, and was a gunsmith. If you or anyone has information on the Teta name, Please feel free to reply. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Derrick!

My great grandfather was Luigi Teta who came to this country on June 20, 1911 with his family, including his son Graziano Teta, my grandfather. They arrived on the ship Duca degli Abruzzi from Naples. Their hometown in Italy was Vietri di Potenza and settled in Jersey City. The family name was changed to Taite when Graziano became naturalized. I would appreciate any family history you may have.

please email me at trvrbo@aol.com. I think we are related!!

There is also a Rosie, Rosa or Rosina in that family who had just married my grandfather Antonia Camberdella (camardela, Gamberdella, Gambardella- spelled many ways at first). Other relatives now live in W. New York (actually in N.J.) and Bronx, and Long Island.
