TESCHE in Solingen, Germany
I suspect that I've located my g-grandmother's TESCHE family in Solingen, Baden, Germany. All I had to go on was what my grandmother told me many years ago, Her mother, Emma Tesche was born about 1856 and had three siblings: Bertha (real name Wilhemine?, eventually settled in Bethaines, PA), Charles (nee Carl?) and Peter.
Interested in hearing from anyone with a possible connection to this family. If I've found the correct family, father was Abraham Tesche, mother was Friederike KEPPIN.

Re: TESCHE in Solingen, Germany
Hi and thanks. I knew that Solingen was in the Rheinland. My TESCHE great-grandmother married Johannes ZIMMERMANN who I think may have been from Baden - hence the mistake.
20+ years ago, long before I began family history research, I asked my grandmother about her family. The good news was that I took a few notes. The bad news is that one thing wasn't clear. One parent came from "the Black Forest" (Baden-Weurttemberg) - it isn't clear which parent. One parent (again, not sure which one) came from a town which I wrote phonetically as Kambach-en-Rhein. The only other thing I've been told is that my great-grandfather Zimmerman was a Prussian soldier.
Are you familiar with the TESCHE family in Solingen?

Re: TESCHE in Solingen, Germany
Hi Maddin,
About 4 or 5 years ago, a very kind gentleman from Germany found my great-grandmother's family. He even got me copies of the certificates for them - and a generation or two back!
It turns out that they were Cronenburg and Wuppertal-Sudberg - not far from Solingen, I believe.
I appreciate your kind offer. I'm in Syracuse, NY USA. Is there anything I can do to be of help to you?
Best, Nancy

Re: TESCHE in Solingen, Germany
Is this the Tesche line that emigrated to North Carolina and became the Teachey'S?I have a 7th great grandfather named Daniel Tesche that was born in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and came to New Bern, North Carolina in 1710.Same family?

Re: TESCHE in Solingen, Germany
Your Daniel Tesche may have been of the same family. My ggg-grandfather was Johann Peter Tesche born in 1822 in Cronenberg-Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia. When was Daniel born? And do you have any other information about his origins?

Re: TESCHE in Solingen, Germany
I believe my husband is related to the same Daniel Tesche. They settled in Duplin Co. NC. I am trying to find more info. Daniel Teachey (b. 1708 Germany, d. 21 Sept 1791 Duplin Co. NC) and his wife Ann Wells are both buried at the Red House Cemetery in Duplin Co. near the town of Teachey, NC.
