I am researching the MANTEUFEL family and would love any info you can give me regarding the TESCH family. They are descendants of Othilie MANTEUFEL who married Gustav KUEHL. Albert KUEHL wed Emma TESCH. Email me at

THANKS Audrey

If you are the Phil Tesch with an entry in Ancestry.com as follows, I believe some of the information you have for this family is incorrect. Please contact me if you are interested in correcting your information. Pauline's marriage was to Philip J. LERCH, not TESCH. Byron is in Fond du Lac County, NOT Dodge County. Other errors here too.

Sounds very much like my father who immigrated to the US about that time and I believe you can get more information from the Ellis Island website. The marriage date would have been before 1937 and her (Alice's parents) lived in Milwaukee. Andrew (he "Americanized" his first name and the Immigration Inspector removed one of the "s" because he said it would be too hard to pronounce, hence Thiesen for Thiessen. His parents moved from Hamburg to Sylt, Germany prior to Andrew's move. I'll look for more information if you're interested.

Hi
it could be Andreas Thiessen, born 9. March 1904 in Welingdorf? His parents were Boy Thiessen 3. April 1875 - 2. Sept. 1942 in Morsum/Sylt and Clara H. Thiessen 3. Dec. 1876 - 10. Apr 1951, Morsum/Sylt.
I have more information about the family if you are interested.
Elisabeth

Hi, I had an Uncle "Andy" and Alice is my aunt, the sister of my father. Her parents were William and Anna Tesch who lived in Milwaukee. They had 12 children. I've lost contact with most of my cousins (there were many). Hope this is helpful. Nancy

I just had dinner with cousin Mildred Tesch Ricco now 94 and her niece, Susan. My grandmother, Alma Volkmann Meier was Anna Volkmann Tesch's sister.
