I am a descendent of Carl T. Tesch,My Great Grandfather was the 3rd Son. William Fredrick Tesch was born May 9,1846 in Pommer, Germany. He came with His family to Watertown, Wi. He was only 14 years old when He wanted to go in the service with His 2 brothers Fredrick and John. As He was too young He placed in the guartermaster's department until He was 16 and was allowed to join His Brothers 13th Regiment and He served there until the surrender of the Confereate army. The end of the war found Him at San Antonio,Texas and in order to be mustered out with His Brothers He walked from San Antonio to Madison,Wi. where He recieved His discharge.
After His discharge He made His home in Watertown and Married Anna Marie Voigt on Feb. 5,1871 and they moved to Mitchell,Iowa where they lived until 1881 They moved to Long Prairie where They lived until 1906 Then moved to Page,N.D. They lived there until 1919. Anna Marie Voigt died in 1916 and was buried in Long Pairie. William moved to Kensal,N.D, in 1919 snd actively engaged in farming after several years He retired and lived the life of a retired farmer.
There were 16 children born to William and Anna. 7died before William and the other I will name as listed in His obituary. Mrs. David Rogers, Mrs. Frank Prey, Carl Tesch Ida Tesch, Emma Schroeder, Roy Tesch, Alvin Tesch, Mrs William Bergner, John Tesch. He had 3 brothers John, Fredrick and August.
My Grandfather was Alvin Tesch and My Father Woodrow Pershing Tesch.
