I'm looking for relatives of Bruce Anton Tesar. He was born in Vienna, Austria 02-26-41. Moved to Easton, PA approx 1953. Has/Had a mother with the birth name Ellenor Langr, a sister named Rosemary, and a stepfather named William Ernst. Please contact me with any information you may have on this family.

My grandfather was Dominik Tesar also born in Vienna Austria but in 1896. I understand that Tesar's in Vienna are probably related. Do you have any other information on your Tesar family?
|
Kate,
I really don't have very much information. I know that Bruce's father was Anton Tesar born? I suspect around 1920. He died in the war when Bruce was 2. His mother left him not long after that. Her name was/is Ellenor Langr. I don't know the name of the orphanage Bruce was in (Vienna, Austria), but I do know that he was there with another Tesar.

Mona - It was nice to hear from you. I don't have much info either. My grandfather was Dominik Joseph Tesar and was born in Vienna in I believe 1894. I think I have some paperwork from Austria. I will look it up and send you another email. Thanks for your response. Kate

Kate,
Cant wait to hear from you again. Awhile back I bought one of those "Tesar" surname books. You need to give me a little more info on your Tesar so I can look it up. Is your maiden name Tesar? What's your Tesar geographical history here in the United States? Bruce (my husband) was sent for (from the orphanage in Vienna) by his natural mother who was already here in Pennsylvania. He was about 12 years old. He graduated high school there, then enlisted into the military and went (and stayed) in Oakland, CA. Being a bit bitter at that time in his life, he never returned, nor did he ever contact his family. We've since moved to CO. I do know he had/has a sister named Rosemary, also last known to be in Pennsylvania.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Mona - Thanks for your reply. I have no family other than mysiblings and children alive so I am very interest in my family history. I have really been involved looking for my mom's family because I am a civil war reenactor and my mom's ancestors fought for the Virginia cavalry. Anyway, my maiden name is Tesar. My Dad was born in Philadelphia on May 8, 1924. His name was Dominik Joseph Tesar II. His father was born in Vienna Austria in about 1894. I'm not sure of the exact date. My Grandmother's name was Mitzi Braunner Tesar. She was born in Austria on February 10,1901. They were married in Austria on April 24,1921. My greatgrandmother won a lottery in Vienna and came to the US. She brought her children over one at a time. I don't know how many children there were, at least two though, Minna was my grandfather's sister. Anyway, my grandfather came to the US sometime between 1921 and 24 when my dad was born. He got a job in Philadelphia and then sent for my grandmother. They were both hairdresser. My grandfather was my grandmother's teacher. I will look up my Vienna papers (baptismal certificates, birth cert.etc this weekend and will email you again. I remember my grandmother telling me that they had a visit one time from an IRS person with the name of Tesar. He had done their income tax return and when he saw their name he came to visit them because he was a Tesar from Vienna too. Since that name is so unusual here he wanted to meet them. Will email again soon. Hope I can offer some help. Kate

Chris, Mona, et al,
I have a Tesar line that I am researching. One of my great grandfathers was Vaclav (James) Tesar, b. 27 Aug 1854, Bohemia, d. 3 May 1918, Chicago, IL. He married Marie Brychtova 12 Aug 1876, in Chicago. They had eight children, one of which was my paternal grandmother, Rosalie Ann Tesar.
If any of these names are familiar to you, I would very much like to hear from you.
Regards,
Bob Zidlicky San Antonio, TX
