I have just started researching the Teman line and I have the name William (brn 8/10/1906, died 1/29/1962). but he was born in New York so it may not be the right person. Let me know.

Wm. Martha Barnett Teman

The William Teman that I am researching was born 8/10/1906 in New York and died in 1962. He was married to an Evelyn
so we are looking at two different Williams but I think my Temans also came from Germany. If I can find anything
in my search that might help you. I will be glad to send it on. Thank you

Surnames: Teman, Teaman
William F. Teman was born Frederick William Tieman 14 May 1861 in Adams County, PA. I have seen his fathers family bible. It is in the possession of my great aunt Rose Teaman Maher. William was the oldest of two children of Johann "John" Friedrich Tieman and Catharina Grund. Johann immigrated from Prussia in 1854 and settled in Adams County, PA. I am descended from John's second marriage. Catherina died just a few years after she married John. William married Pearl Osborn in 1893 and lived in Indiana before moving to Oregon. I have found five children from the marraige. Frederic E., Elsie and Ellis (twins), Theodore (died young) and Mary M. I have more information if you are interested. I have only just made the connection to the Teman spelling. All of my direct ancestors changed the origional spelling to Teaman. I am looking for information on the Teman ancestry.

My husbands uncle was William Teman, he was married to Evelyn, he had 3 sons and one daughter. He was born in 1906 and died in 1962. We think he was born in Europe. William had 2 brothers, the family settled in Brooklyn, NY and Queens, NY.

Thank you for responding to my message. I believe we are researching the same Teman. Was the father of your William, Nathan? It would be nice if we could work together in this search. Hope to hear from you.

Yes his name was Nathan. How are you related? I'd be intereseted in hearing more about your search so far. My husbands' family do not speak to us much, so knowing about family history is important to us.

My relationship is through my daughter-in-law, whose mother is a Teman.
I have been doing ancestral research for about 35 years and she asked if I would help her find her ancestors. So far in my research I have more questions than answers.
If you are interested in working together on this line, I would be thrilled to work with you.
There is something you could do that would help us to find more information about William. You could check the funeral home, that prepared the body for burial, for his death records that may contain information about his parents, etc.
I hope to hear from you soon.
