Juan Tejada was my ggrandfather; married to Susannah Banks. Lived in Floresville (Wilson County), TX. Somehow, there is a Louis Richmond connected to our family but don't yet know the connection. Susannah Banks came to US from Eng with Catholic priest.

Frank Tejada from Floresville was my biological father. His Dad was John Tejada and his mom was Lena Mills. I see that someone else is from the Tejada family in Floresville Texas. Does anyone know about Lena Mills who was my grandmother? Or how the Tejadas came to live in Floresville?
Thanks

This is really exciting. I've had messages on the boards for a year or so. Frank Tejada was my uncle. My father was John Tejada Jr.
Our grandfather's mother was Susannah Banks. I have some info posted under that name. From what I understand, our grandfather's father was a man named Louis (?) Richardson. Susannah was married to Juan Tejada who ran a boarding house in Floresville. Not sure how Louis Richardson became involved with Susannah. Susannah came from England with a priest and settled in Floresville. (It was not Floresville at that time but Bexar County.) I have visited the cemetary where Louis Richardson is buried.
As for Lena Mills (real name was Edna Mills), her father was Zack Mills and mother was Margarita. There was a Lester Mills in Floresville that my grandmother told me at one time was her cousin.
Could you tell me who your mother is? I remember my uncle being married to Macrina and Genevieve.
I am not close to the family since I have been away for almost 40 years but I do see them every 5 years or so. I do have contact with Helen Cantu (Aunt Betty's daughter).
Please feel free to write and ask any further questions.
I started looking for relatives because I wanted to put together some family history for grandmother's 100th birthday; unfortunately, it was too big a project but I still have some info about many of our cousins that I would be glad to share with you.
Again, this is really exciting. Please keep in touch.
Regards,
Mary Lou Van Hyfte

Hi,
This is pretty exciting .. my name is Susan
Howard - maiden name Susan Tejada - Mother
was Genevieve Flores, Father - Frank Tejada.
One of my daughters is starting a family soon
and we decided to do family research as a joint
project.
We know very little about the Tejada branch -
so finding someone like you who has already
done some investigation is great ...
I will send you an email from your subsequent
message...
Thanks for "Lena's" real name - Edna -- I could
not find a Lena Mills anywhere on record...
Thanks for the other info too -- I have
sent off for all the Social Security Applications
for the folks I know - this is pretty exciting..
kind of like touching your ancestors or something..
Will let you know if I find anything on Louis
Richardson -- interesting note about the graveyard
marker - I haven't been to Texas in about 12
years or so ...
Do you know where Juan Tejada came to the US from?
I noticed Tejada surname is popular is
Dominican Republic and other areas - but have
not traced back that far yet ..
thanks again
susan howard

I'm looking for ancestors from Floresville and Pandora Texas.
My GGgrandmother was Concepcion Tejada but not really sure if from Floresville, however my grandmother Jesusa Perez married a Florentino Lopez from Floresville. Parents of Jesusa Perez b. 1909 were Ignacio Perez and Maria Garza.
Parents of Ignacio Perez were Simon Perez and Concepcion Tejada.
Can anyone help?

I've just started working on the tree again and found some interesting information about our great-grandmother. The info is on ancestry.com (Tejada family tree)
