I am Nancy's Aunt Karen. I just found today on the 1900 census a listing for Frank and Marie Teichmann, but no new information. It is just one more proof. I have asked a cousin there to get their death certificates for me, also, but his life has been so busy, he hasn't taken the time. If there is anything new that I find, I'll get back to Nancy's mother.

Are your Teichmann's from Missouri? Am seeking any clues on Clara Teichmann married Flaud C Headrick around Cape Girardeau MO. I believe she had relative named August, perhaps mother, sister, aunt? Any info appreciated.

No, my family was from Wisconsin and before then, from Germany. Sorry. KETF

Karen...My grandmothers (Clara Teichmann)parents and/or grandparents I'm told was from Germany. Do you have any Auguste Teichmann in your information?? Perhaps their might be some relation farther back.
|
Hi, I am unaware of any Auguste Teichmann. My grandfather's father was William Frederick and his brother's name was William Y. Now, William Frederick may have had some brothers. I am having a terrible time trying to tie my family to a time, emigration and actual place of birth. It is rumored that they came from Frankfurt on the Oder River, not Frankfurt on the Main. When my husbank and I were in Germany two years ago, we checked the Frankfurt on the Main phone book and found many Teichmann names and also Teichman. When our family first came to America, they still spelled the name with only one "n". Our family settled first in Waukesha County and then in Pierce County WI. I am still working to learn about their lives in America and haven't tried to research Germany. Perhaps, there is a connection. Let's keep in touch. I'll save your e-mail address. Karen

I hve a Great Grand Mother who's last name is Teichmann. I know nothing about her or where she came from. My Dad's middle name is Fredrick and he was called Fritz as a child, so we thought maybe there was a German Grand parent.
Any ideas.
