Hi from Australia,
Hoping someone can help me!
I am trying to find details of my great great grandparents Patrick Joseph Tehan & Hanorah Tehan (nee Griffiths).
All I know is they where living in Sydney Australia in 1870 according to the birth certificate of there son Joseph, the cert also show other children they had had, being 2 girls living & 2 girls dec'd.
From their ages on the birth certificate Patrick was born in & about 1842 & Hanorah in 1844.
Thank you in anticipation, Jane

Hi Jan,
To say you have filled me with a little excitment is an understatement...I have been doing my family tree on & off for about 10 years & you are the first glimmer of hope I have that some part of the family is still around.
Daniel Joseph Tehan married Alice Elizabeth Wild in 1891 they had 6 children William Joseph 1892 - 1912, Walter James 1894 - 1973, Doris May 1896 - 1968, David John 1902 - 1963, Harry Charles 1905 - 1973 & Alice Bridget 1907 - 1955.
Alice Bridget is my grandmother, she married Eric Alexander Buchanan in Balmain 1935 & they had 2 sons Donald Charles 1933 - 1993 (my dad) & Barry Eric 1936.
The majority of the Tehan/Buchanan & Palmer (Doris May married Joseph Harold Palmer & had 6 boys - only 2 are still alive) family above lived in Balmain from about the 1920/30's & those still alive (there isn't many) haven't gone very far from it.
Where do you fit into this big picture ?
Thank you so much for the information it has clarified a few years of birth for me.
I don't know if it is of any help but....I have found a Patrick, Catherine 1845, Bridget 1842 & Annie born to James & Bridget Teahan in Kilkearny, Ireland - it's only a thread at the moment I haven't done any checks at this stage.
Lovely to hear from you, thank you again. If you think I may have something that may help you please don't hesitate to ask.
Regards, Jane

Hi again Jan, Sorry, I didn't read this message until after I sent a reply to your other message. How cool a relative! I have covered some of the immediate family in my previous response, if there is more you would like to know don't hesitate to email me direct at buchmill@bigpond.com. Look forward to hearing from you, would love to know where you fit in (do you live in Australia?). Jane

Hi Jan,
I know the excitment you are talking about, I'm assuming that you knew my dad ?
I'm sorry to say that Uncle Brian (Palmer) passed away to cancer about 9 years ago. It was a very tough time...within 3 years we lost Uncle Joe, Dad & Uncle Brian all to cancer. The only ones still around are Uncle Ray who now lives in Ryde & Uncle Bill who is in Darwin.
We have 5 childred in our family, 4 girls (Jane 1964, Joanne 1965, Karen 1966 & Kim 1973) & 1 boy Chistopher 1970.
I moved from Drummoyne about 12months ago with my partner Matthew, Matthew & I brought a small property in a town call Karangi (about 15klm out of Coffs Harbour).
I'll have to get my scanner up and running & send you some family photo's, I have some of Alice Bridget & Doris with all the boys taken in about the late 1930's.
Look forward to swapping information.
Love Jane

James & Bridget Teahan and family (Looking for a Jeremiah)
Seeking any info re James & Bridget Teahan and their children Catherine and Bridget. I believe they may be my g g grandparents who came out to Aust in 1854 on the Columbia. Am trying to find out if they had a son Jeremiah born approx 1850 .(He was not on passenger list). He couldn't read or write and I've uncovered some interesting variations of the surname along the way. We have always spelt Teehan with the "ee" but I know there are several versions so am keeping all options open. Jeremiah settled in NZ & married Margaret Brown. Children were James, May, Norman & Jack. Would really appreciate some assistance on this.
