Re: Looking for relates with name Tegenkamp
Hi cousin Judy!
Your mother must be Josephine Pulvermacher, and Kenneth married her in April of 1954. I have no more information on your parents, you, or siblings, if any.
Andrew Joseph Tegenkamp b.August 14, 1903 Effingham County, Illinois
Christina Margaret Doetzel b. about 1900 in Minnesota. They married in Canada August 14, 1928 . Andrew died April 11, 1975 in Bruno and is buried in St. Bruno Cemetery. Christina died January 17, 1992 and is also buried at St. Bruno.
Your dad's sibling are: Clarence, Dennis, Winnifred, and Christine. Another sibling, Helarious J. b. 1938 died May 21, 1942.
Andrew was the son of Henry Herman Tegenkamp and Katherine Anne Arnzen. He had seven siblings, he being the oldest b. 1903.
About Henry and Katherine's move to Canada: "The reason they left the United States was that they were land tenents and had the misfortune of having a house fire in which they almost lost everthing.. Mr. Henry Dust was just back from Canada and he encouraged them to go to Canada, where the land was cheap and they had a chance to make a freah start."
Henry Tegenkamp, my grandmother's brother, was killed in an Automobile/train accident in Bruno 1935. A daughter, Annie Gertrude, and a friend, Elsie Zacherel were also killed. I have the original newspaper article that was sent to my grandmother by a family member.

Re: Looking for relates with name Tegenkamp
Hi Melody
Thank you so much for replying to my message. I quite honestly did not think anyone ever was going to. Thank you also for the information you sent me.
My parents are actually Kenneth Tegenkamp and Josephine Sirop and were married October 28, 1954. My mother actually lived with Josephine Pulvermacher since she was about five. My five siblings and myself always called Josephine Pulvermacher our grandma. She was my mothers aunt. We use to always play cards with her for nickels.
I was researching the Tegenkamp name quite a while ago and then I kind of put it on the back burner. I think you may have motivated me to start it up again.
Thanks again for replying and I hope to get back at this again.
I would love to hear from you again.
Bye for now and take care

Re: Looking for relates with name Tegenkamp
Actually, we are relatively close cousins; Second cousins once removed, if my calculations are correct. Your grandfather, and my daddy were first cousins. My private email is oh_stop_it@hotmail.com. A descriptive subject will keep you from going in the junk. Question: is Sirop French?

Re: Looking for relates with name Tegenkamp
Hi Butch
I apologize but I am not sure about the Doetzel you are asking about. My grandma was Christine Doetzel and was born in 1900. I am sorry I am not more helpful.

Re: Looking for relates with name Tegenkamp
Hi Judy,
Not sure if you're still interested in this at all or not, but I may have some info (on the Doetzel side)...if you don't have it already. It looks like your great-grandfather and my great-grandfather are brothers. If I have it correct, your great-grandfather is Jacob Doetzel who was married to Christine Hennes?
Let me know if you're interested at all.

Re: Looking for relates with name Tegenkamp
Judy,
My grandmother was Clara Ann (Tegenkamp) Stephens. Her oldest brother Henry moved to Bruno, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was Andrew's father. I can give you information on my branch of the Tegenkamp tree.
