All Tegenkamp Cousins, please read

Surnames: Tegenkamp
About a year ago I started a Tegenkamp community and posted material to the site. I had a few members, but if things remain inactive for awhile they get deleted; so they did. I have tried to maintain this community but it takes a lot of work.

Are any of you interested in an invitation to take a look at what is there? It would be a good way to share each particular line. I do have lines that are not mine and would love to connect them.

Included in the information is the following:

Descendants of Hermann Heinrich Tegenkamp: hard to read but I will edit if I get a good response. It is far from complete.

Tegenkamps of Effingham County: a piece written by Franz-Josef Tegenkamp.

Tegenkamp notes:bits and pieces of information

Clemens Tegenkamp and Delphos Ohio:my great grandfather had a brother, Clemens Tegenkamp. There was an older Clemens Tegenkamp who lived for awhile in Effingham Co., and then moved on to Ohio. I am trying to figure out the connection.

Green Creek Tegenkamps: a piece taken from St. Mary's Green Creek bicentennial book 1860-1995.

Henry Tegenkamp of Canada: a paragraph with some comments about the death of Henry Tegenkamp, son of Antony John Tegenkamp.

Tegenkamp Burial sites: a list of burial sites where I have found Tegenkamps...

Tegenkamp Obits and Deaths: a little more information

Children of Mildred Tegenkamp and Herbert Arder. I believe these are descendants of Clemens and Mary Clausing Tegenkamp.

Tegenkamp events: more bits of information, no particular family

Children of Anthony Tegenkamp and Barbara Sehy: far from complete

Descendants of Robet Louis Tegenkamp: I believe this is for our Ohio cousins

Henry Joseph Tegenkamp and Elizabeth Busse: this is a newspaper article telling about their Golden wedding anniversary.

In addition, I have posted the marriage certificate of Antony J. Tegenkamp and Mary Clara Dust, a newspaper article showing the train/car accident in which Henry and Annie Tegenkamp were killed, and Antony and Clara's 50th anniversary reunion picture.

You Effingham cousins, let's see if we can identify all the people in that picture!

contact me at oh_stop_it@hotmail.com for your invitation.

Hi Melody:

My husband, Gregory Louis Tegenkamp (7/27/52) (San Francisco, CA) is the son of Robert Louis Tegenkamp. He now resides in Ocala, Florida with is wife Patricia (Dermody) He had three other children: Steven, Karen and Jeffrey. They reside in the Cincinati area. Robert is a twin. His brother is Norbert Tegenkamp (dec. 1994?) His are children Alex (Benicia, CA) and Eric(Concord, CA)

Greg has two children: Katherine Anne 6/23/90 and Rachel Jayme 2/22/95. I married Greg on 1/11/86.

If you would like any other info please let me know. Also please send me any info on Robert's side of the family. My only info is his father is Frank Tegenkamp, a baker, who married a woman named Anna. I'm not sure of her last name.

I appreciate your help, as I have an extensive family tree on my mother's side (Jayme). My family is from the Philippines and goes somewhere into Spain.

Hello Florence,
Your names sound familiar and I believe I have been in contact with a young member of your family.

I don't have my Tegenkamp records at hand right now, but I am reasonably sure your husband's ancestors are Clemens Tegenkamp and Mary Clausing who married 08/23/1860. His father was a brother to my Herman Henry Tegenkamp.

I have a copy of Clemens' Naturalization records as I once thought he was My Clemens (first cousins, though). Your Clemens had a brother Bernard who they called Barney. My Clemens also had a brother named Bernard that they called Barney. Both Barneys stayed in the Effingham/Shelby County, Illinois area where your Barney died in a farm accident in 1864.

Will dig my stuff up and get back to you in the next few days.

Thanks for contacting me.

Hi Melody:

I spoke with my husband about this last night. His believes his grandfather immigrated to the U.S. from Germany. He said there is another Robert Louis Tegenkamp in Florida as his dad was getting some financial information be accident.

We may not be descended directly from your branch of the Tegenkamps, if Greg's grandfather immigrated in the early 1900's, but may still be related in the big picture.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Florence

Thank you for responding, Stacia. First, I would like to express my heart-felt condolences at the loss of your daddy. What a great fellow he was, the one time I met him. I have pictures of him and myself at the store. He took the time to take my son and me to the cemetery and pointed out not only the graves of relatives, but also stones he had carved himself. He cleared up many questions...such as " was Mayme ever married to Harry Newton ?" (yes). My daddy thought they were not, but I saw their graves.

I was totally shocked to learn of his death, and very saddened as I really wanted to get to know him.

Looks like you answered my question regarding your mother. She had that elusive surname "UNK" in my files. I wanted to write her after your father's death, but didn't know exactly what to say...so I remained silent, and cried.

Thanks again for responding.

Your cousin,

Melody
