I am in New Jersey, U.S.A. My mother's family are the Teears. There were 13 siblings in my grandfather's family. His mother was Ada Lenton (Sparry). Have lots more info if you are interested. Just email me!.

Hi Laura, My mother's maiden name is Teears. Her father was Thomas Lenton Teears and her mother was Eleanor Barton. Unfortunately, her parents divorced when she was small and she lost contact with her father's side of the family. She grew up in Camden N.J. and moved to South Tx when she was 17. I know she would love to know more about her father's family. I'll be excited to hear from you. Virginia Greer

Hello Virginia,

I do have a Thomas Teears in my files. He was my grandfather's youngest brother. Thomas was the youngest of 13 children born to Thomas Teears and Ada Lenton Sparry Teears. He was born in March, 1911 when Ada was 52 years old. He died young, at the age of 47, in December of 1958. I have very little information on him but I do have a lot of info on the Teears family. Thomas Teears (Senior) and Ada came to the U.S. through Canada. Most of the children were born in Philadelphia, where they lived for a time before moving across the river to Camden City and Gloucester City. There were Lentons who lived in Gloucester City as well. I have a feeling that your Thomas and my Thomas are one and the same because of his middle name. I have a lot of info that I could either snail mail to you or email to you if you are interested. I do have one question, though, what is your mother's name? My mother is very interested in hearing about your mother because she was unaware that Thomas had any children, and she would like to contact your mother if possible. It would be nice to find some long lost cousins after such a long time.

Please email me at CAC10261@cs.com.

Am searching for information on the name of Lenton. I have very little to go on. This was my grandmother's maiden name. I can get back to a Charles Lenton, I believe in New York. My grandmother was born in Minnesota. There is also a Robert Lenton.

Hello Jean,

Unfortunately I have very little information on the Lenton line of my family. Here's the info I do have. Ada Eliza Lenton Sparry Teears was my ggrandmother. She married Thomas Teears in Manchester, England. She was born around 1859. We are not sure of her birthdate but we do know that she gave birth in 1911, at the age of 52, to her last child. I am gathering information right now so that I can go into Philadelphia (I live a very short distance from there in New Jersey) and try to find if the Teears came into the US through the Port of Philadelphia. If I can find this information then I might be able to find other info on the family, such as birth certificates, etc. When I get hold of this info I will post it here so that you can share in it.

Good luck with all of your searches!!

Laura

hello, hello. is there anybody in there? just nod if you can hear. is there anyone at home? come on, come on now, i need some information first. just the basic facts....
Your query, "is there anybody out there?????", sounded so familar to me, I could not resist replying with a few more lines of the lyrics. Pardon me if you are offended. It was sorta as a joke. Still, I am a Teears. I pronounce my name TR's. I am
curious about the history of the Teears name, both its ancient roots and current members. Growing up, I didn't think there were any others with this name.
