I'm looking for information on the family of my grandfather, Cecil Charles Tebbutt. His parents were Charles Joseph Tebbutt and Alice Eliza Mott. This Tebbutt family lived in Northampton back to the late 18th century, which is as far as I've gone. Cecil had 4 siblings: Alice, Francis, Constance (all older) and Horace, the youngest. Cecil emigrated to Canada, and then the US in 1924. I'd be interested in finding out about his siblings and their descendants and if anyone knows of living relatives.

I don't know if there is any connection, but thought it worth a try. I have a John Line Tebbutt b1836 Thrapston, Northamptonshire, father Benjamin Tebbutt b1806 Thrapston.

If you find a connection then please let me know.

Hi
I don't think I have any connections to your Tebbutts. Most of my Tebbutt line lived in Northampton itself, and were shoe manufacturers. So far, I've never run across Benjamin in my Tebbut line. But it's always worth a shot, isn't it?

I have quite a bit of information on the Tebbutt family in Northampton. My husband's geat x2 great grandfather was Thomas Tebbutt (1815-1899) the father of Charles Joseph Tebbutt whom you mention. If you are interested we could share information.

Hi
Yes, I'm definitely interested. I don't know if you've viewed my family tree on Ancestry (Stauffer Family tree), but your husband and I have the same relationship to Thomas Tebbutt. Do you have a family tree posted on Ancestry? If not, let me know how we can exchange information.

I'm located in Seattle, WA. Are you in the US or the UK? I know of two other public trees that have connections to Thomas Tebbutt through his father Samuel: Eldred/Baker Tree and the Tebbutt Family tree. I've found a few errors in the Eldred/Baker tree, but he told me earlier this year that a lot of his research came from a cousin who lives in Northampton.

Anyway, let's definitely compare our information. Since Northants Family History doesn't have a lot of online databases that cover Parish registers fro births and marriages, it's been difficulat to do research pre-1837.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi
Sorry it's been so long but I never knew this post was out there. My research has been pretty hit-and-miss this year, so I wasn't paying attention to query replys.

My Great grandfather x 2, Thomas Tebbutt, was born in Earls Barton, as was his father, Samuel. My whole line of Tebbutts has had some connection or other to the boot/shoe industry. I tell people this is why I own so many shoes.

So let's see if we have any connections. The farthest back I've gotten is Samuel Tebbutt (1778-1862) father of Thomas Tebbutt (1814-1889), father of Charles J Tebbutt (1843-1893), father of Cecil C Tebbutt (1881-1954) who was my grandfather. My tree on Ancestry, Stauffer Family Tree, is public, so feel free to view it to see if we share relatives.

Thanks for responding to the query, and I hope we can find a common ground.

Hi Jeanne,

I haven't been able to view your Ancestry family tree because I don't have a sub on Ancestry at the moment. I live in Northampton, England so have access to quite a few resources. I have only recently started to research my husband's tree so it is a work in progress. I do have the tree on Tribalpages but it is password protected so I think we need to make contact to exchange information. I have an email address here that you can contact that I use for research:
bessie(dot)grant(at)tiscali(dot)co(dot)uk - I hope that makes sense, I'm trying to avoid spam!
