Looking for any info on Mary Elizabeth Tebay, who married James Barnes Caler. Their daughter Pearl was the mother of my grandmother, Marion Elizabeth. Caler could also be spelled "Cayler". Running into brick walls all around! Thanks for any help.

I am not familiar with yr Mary, but we have Tebays from Kent UK, in the 1800's. Some married and moved to Australia and on to New Zealand in the 1880-1890's. My GG Grandmother a Tebay was born in Kent, married and moved Australia in the 1880's.

I'm sorry. Mary Elizabeth Tebay was born about 1851. She married James B Caler, and died in Eau Claire, Venango Twp, Butler, PA about 1926. As I mentioned, it could be Caler or Cayler. Her daughter, Pearl L. Caler/Cayler was born 29 Oct 1882 in Eau Claire, Venango Twp, Butler, PA. She married Frank B. Stauffer from Lancaster County, PA on 29 June 1904. My grandmother, Marion Elizabeth Stauffer was born in 1906 in Landisville, Lancaster County, PA. She married Simon L. Heisey from West Donegal Twp, Lancaster County, PA and had a brother Robert L. Stauffer, born in 1908.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. We have no known Tebays in the USA.

It is entirely possible Mary Elizabeth was born in the UK and came to the US sometime before she married. That's the information I'm searching for.
