John Teachout (1797-1881) was married to Mary Willows (1800-1867). They had the following children who were all born in New York:

George b1828

I have been unable to determine who John's father was. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

I too am related to this family and I am having a hard time determining the father of John. I have also found that he married another woman by the intitals L.E.. Cyrus would be my great great great grandfather. According to my father the family is Welsh in origins and never changed their name. My cousin says that he remembers his father telling him that five or seven brothers arrived in Canada before migrating into NY. I have been doing some work with the geneology but have hit several dead ends. Best of luck in your search.

I am also related to this line of Teachouts. Henry, John's son would be my ggg grandfather, and John my gggg grandfather. I have quite a bit of information, the time line and census images for this line of Teachouts.

I have information that John Teachout could be the son of Cornelius Teachout (born 1775 of Saratoga, NY) but have not been able to confirm this information correctly.

I would be happy to send you what information I have on this line of Teachouts and if you have any further information for me, please let me know.

Dear Nutty_teach,

I have the timeline for this line of Teachouts, of which I am related to. Henry, son of John Teachout and Maria Willows would be, I believe my 3rd or 4th great grandfather.

If you would like the timeline and genealogy links, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi Becky!

This is what I have come up with:

John had five-seven brothers according to my cousin. (This includes John.) So far I have come up with five for sure and trying to connect the sixth one. These are Jacob b. 1784 m. to Rachel Curtis, James b. 1785 m. to Eliza Haywood, Abraham Abram Sr. b. 1787 m. to Clarissa Throop, William b. 1792 m. to Lucinda Ferguson, and this is the one I am trying to connect Isaac b. 1793 m. to Cathorine Unknown.
Their father was Jacob b.1754 m. Sebra Unknown. Jacob's father was Jacob Willem b. 1695 m. to Zara Van Heyningen. There is always a catch and here it is.....Zara Van Heyningen married Jacob Fitsoor on 14 Apr 1716, Jacob Tietsoort on 14 Apr 1716, Jacob Teachout on 14 Apr 1716 and Jacob Willem Teachout but no marriage date. There is another catch and this is it:

Jacob Tietsoort had the following children
Neeltjen b. 1717
Niclaes b. 1719
Marietje b. 1721
Janneken b. 1721
Willem b. 1723
Sarah b. 1728
Isaac b. 1731
Janneken b. 1734
Gideon b. 1736
Cornelious b. 1738
Magdalena b. 1740

Jacob Teachout m. 1716
John W b. 1775

Jacob Teachout no marriage date
Jacob b. 1754

No records to confirm any of this but it seems to work with the family of John b. 1797. It seems to me that people are confusing the John born 1775 with the one born 1797.

My father when he was alive was very convincing that the his family line never changed the spelling of their name and this seems to back this up. Let me know if you find anything different and can confirm this idea.

Hi Becky,

As I said, I have the whole line on John Teachout and another Teachout as well. But, I tried to open up the CD and it is only available through the Family Tree Maker 2005.

There is so information on these 2 cd's, I have a spare
memory stick, I think I could copy it to the memory stick, but don't know how to get this to you.

I don't have any of this on computer.

Unless you can shed some light on how to copy this information to you and then I could send the information off of the CD to you.

I don't know.

Let me hear back from you.

Dear Nutty_teach, beckykirby62, and roggie01,
I'm writing to ask if you are getting your infomation that you posted off of the family tree maker cd's? If you are there are so many errors on those CD's. Family Tree Maker did not allow people to correct their mistakes, they wanted to sell cd's.
If you want you can email me privately.
