Here is an email response I received from Pat Donlin, another Teachout researcher.

Hi, Becky,

I never did discover who John's parents were, but he definintely was not the son of Jacob and Sabra Teachout and definitely not the son of John Teachout married to Polly _____ (possibly Margaret ____). These lines have been proven. John married to Clarissa Peck was the son of Jacob and Sabra Teachout. John married to Polly was the brother of Jacob married to Sabra. NOT VERIFIED, but highly probable.

However, after tracing as many John Teachouts as I could, I SUSPECT that John Teachout married to Maria Willows MIGHT have been the probable son of Cornelius Teachout married to Sarah ____.
Cornelius Teachout married to Sarah ____ lived in the Town of York, Livingston County, New York circa 1820. He had a son also named Cornelius who married Lucinda Weller. Cornelius and Lucinda removed from the Town of York, Livingston County, New York to Walworth, Wisconsin after 1850. It SEEMS that your John and Maria might be related.

I am NOT certain that this relationship can be verified. I am working only on the assumption that John and Cornelius Teachout II were brothers. I have no proof whatsoever. I wish I could help you with some real facts. Please, let me hear from you, as I am interested in your data, especially that of Lydia's family.

Sincerely, Pat Donlin
