Hi, Valerie, Apparently, we are on the same track with Samuel
and John. I THINK that John, born 1797, is a son of Cornelius
Teachout married to a Sarah _____. Cornelius (b. 1775) was the brother of Samuel Teachout and both men were the sons of Nicholas Tietsoort/Teachout married to Elizabeth Travis. I also think that John (1797) was the brother of Cornelius Teachout (1795) married to Lucinda Weller/Welles. Both men ended up in
Wisconsin. Too much of a coincidence. Pat Teachout Donlin

Hi Valerie!!

A long time ago you had emailed me about the John and Mary Willow family. I can not remember if I ever decided to reply. My father is the late Stanley Teachout whose father was Clifford and his father was Morton. I have been doing some research since November. I would love to share what I have. However, at this point it is just a time line that I have gotten from information from rootsweb and the mormon geneology. My email is nutty_teach@yahoo.com. I think you will find it interesting.

No...this is what I have found: John has for sure four brothers, Jacob b 1784, James b.1798, Abraham Abram Sr b.1787, and William b. 1792. I am also thinking that there is an Isaac b. 1793 and a sister b. 1795. My cousin remembers his dad talking about five or seven brothers being here. I have traced John and brothers back to Jacob b. 1754 as their father and Sebra b. 1757. 1754 Jacob's father was Jacob Willem Teachout b. 1688 and mother Zara Van Heyningen. From what I can see from rootsweb Zara had married Jacob Fitsoor b. 1683 or 1688 on 4/14/1716 with another marriage to Jacob Tietsoort b. 1688 on the same date and then a third marriage to Jacob Teachout b. 1688 with again the same date. The difference between these Jacobs and Jacob Willem Teachout is the listing of children. My father had always maintained that his relatives never changed their name and haled from Wales. I have basically worked through the five brothers but are missing dates and has been interesting. My next step is to get into the details but right now I am working with the time line. Dollie would have been my father's aunt. I think we have a picture of all the siblings. I am glad you replied as I would like to keep in contact with you.

Hi Deb,

I just talked with my father and read him your e-mail. He would like to know if your mother is still alive. Daddy is 81 and not in the best of health. He told me about visiting your father in Storm Lake and him taking him out on the lake during the winter. They stopped to visit your parents a few months before your father passed away.

Where do you live? I live in Bangor, Maine -- too far away from my parents. I am very close to them and it is very difficult to be so far and see them getting older.

I have one daughter who is married with 4 children. They are what keep me here.

Anyway, so happy to be in touch with another cousin!

Valerie

Hi Valerie!!!

Yes, my mother is still alive. She is 88 and will be 89 in March. Unfortunately she too isn't in good health as she has lost most of her short term memory and is starting to loose her long term memory. I am now living with her in Clinton, Iowa and taking care of her since the economy took my job and house.

I never married but I do have a brother who has been married three times, has three children from two of the marriages, two step children from the third marriage, and has six grand kids and two step grand kids, and 1 great grand kid. How's that for a family line???? Both myself and my brother were adopted as babies. I haven't looked into that aspect of my life yet....but maybe some day.

Yes, Storm Lake holds a lot of memories for me too. Practically grew during the summers there. Dad and his dad built several houses there that dad kept for many years and we repaired during the summers as well as caught dinner from the lake. One of the houses dad had is now in the area called Lakeview which is part of Teachout section.

What is your mom and dad's name and I will see if mom remebers them. Where is your dad living now?

Dear Deb,

I am related to this line of Teachouts as well.

I also live in Clinton, Iowa.

I saw your postings to Val and am wondering if
I can get in contact with you somehow.

Maybe you could shed some light on this information as well.

My name is Sue Roggendof and you can reach me at roggie01@mchsi.com. I don't have a home phone any more
and would give you my cell phone number but don't know if this message will be on the message boards or not. I don't want everyone to have my phone number.

Please contact me at roggie01@mchsi.com.

Thank you Deb.

Good Evening Valerie,

Haven't heard from you so I thought I would drop you a line.

Mom remembers your dad visiting in Storm Lake and having your parenets here shortly before Dad passed. I was glad that she could do that as she is losing her short term memory. She is 88 and like you, it is hard to see her failing.

If it is easier to keep in touch, you should use my email address. It is nutty_ teach at yahoo.com I do look forward to hearing from you and then being able to tell mom.

I have not found anything with about a Samuel. And I still haven't found the connection to the Isaac I have been trying to trace. Do know that the brothers are Jacob, John, William, James, Abraham and Henry.

Write when you can and we can continue to share information.

Deb

Hi Deb,

I am so sorry I haven't written back.

Yes, I would like to e-mail if that is okay with you.

I will write one tonight. I am talking on the phone with my parents right now. :-)
