Re: My last name is Teabo also.
I don't know if I fit into this picture or not.
My father, James Edward Teabo, was born in Baltimore in 1936.
His father, Leo Joseph Teabo was born in Baltimore in 1911. He had 5 siblings, Edward, Dolores, Helen, Margaret, and James.
His father was Edward Teabo.
I believe his father was John Teabo, born in Maryland.
His father, John A. Teabo was born in Augusta County, West Virginia, now Virginia in 1828 or 1831. He served in the Confederate Army from 1862 until 1864 when he was captured, took the oath, and was sent north, presumably to Maryland. He married Mary Ellen ??? and had 6 children - Mary Ellen, William Edward, John, Thomas, Hester, and James Frederick.
Do any of these names match up with yours?

Re: My last name is Teabo also.
I printed the message. The next time that I visit with my mother I'm going to see if any of the names sound familar to her. I'm at a loss because I really didn't know my father's side of the family. I pretty sure that Sherry & I are related... small world that it is, but your list is unfamilar to me.

TEBO was: My last name is Teabo also.
Looks like this thread is old but I thought I would respond. I am a direct descendant of John A. Tebo (Teabo by your records). Thank you so much for writing as your writing has brought some light into the change of the spelling of my last name of Tebo. My information has it that John A. Tebo (Teabo) was born in 1828. More importantly, my ancestor William Edward Tebo matches with what you have found precisely. I had hit a roadblock on John A. Tebo and had deduced that the spelling change of the last name occured with him and you have confirmed it. Oh, I believe you reversed the birth state. I believe it should be born in Virginia, now West Virginia as the state was split as a result of the American Civil War. Thank you also for the name Mary Ellen as I had deduced either Ellen or Emma and she may have gone by her middle name.
William Edward Tebo is listed in census records with this spelling of the last name rather than 'Teabo'. So in searching for family, it might help to use the spelling of Tebo or Teabeau for those reading this. My lineage is the following.
1. John A Tebo (Teabo) born in VA now WV 2. William Edward Tebo born in VA now WV 3. Elmer Edward Tebo born in WV lived in Baltimore 4. Julian Drenner Tebo born in WV lived in MD, NJ, PA 5. Robert J. Tebo lived in NJ, in US ARMY, now in TX 6. Christopher M. Tebo (me) now in TX 7. Kyla Lauren Tebo (daughter 1.5 years old now)

Re: My last name is Teabo also.
Dear Sir,
I knew a Patrick Teabo, the son of my half-sister and a father who apparently did have some native Indian blood. My half-sister's name was Danielle.
best wishes

Re: TEBO was: My last name is Teabo also.
Hi -
I just read your post on Tebo/Teabo. It sounds rather interesing. Was your John A. in the Civil War? I can scan some pay stubs if you like. Also there is a listing in a book that shows him as listed in a certain company. I'm just getting back to research on ancestry again and need to pull my information off an old computer to see if I can verify the matching up of our families. How did you wind up in Texas?

I know this is an old post, but I am also looking for George and Gertrude Teabo. I'm pretty sure they were the parents of Etta S. Teabo and I as told George was a Mohawk Indian. I'm trying to find out more information about the Indian heritage. Any information would be great. My email is heather.nicole@live.com.
