For Joanna and Barbara and other Tchorzewski/Tchorzewska inquirers:
I wonder if your are still checking this board. My mother-in-law was Irena Tchorzewska, born in Mohylow Podolski, Belarus in the early 1900's. He father was Stefan born 1884 and her mother was a Kwapiszewski. They were of Polish extraction, but lived in Belarus because of their educations in engineering and mining.
When the Bolsheviks overthrew the Tzar, they fled to Warsaw, Poland. They had a pretty nice life until Hitler attacked Warsaw in 1939. Stefan Tchorzewski was director of the equivalent to the stock exchange. He died during the war. He had a brother who lived in London. His name was Tadeusz Tchorzewski. I don't know what Tchorzewski family Stefan originated from, nor do I know if any of them came to the USA, except for my mother-in-law. I suspect the Tchorzewski family was scattered because of all the wars inEurope.
I would like very much to find those who might be related.
