My Tassiker/ Taziker family are mainly to be found in the Longton, Penwortham, Croston areas of Preston Lancs. My earliest known for sure ancestor is Henry Tassiker married to Ellen. their son Edward born 1816 is my grt grt grandfather and he was married to Mary Isherwood at St Johns Church in Preston in the 1830s The name appears on various documents spelt sometimes with the double s and sometimes with a z. My own father spelt our name with the double s but always pronounced it with a z. I am certain that they are the same name.
