Columbia, S.C. - July 4 - News has just been received here of a shooting affray in Saluda county. Details are meager, but from such information as can b gathered, it is learned that William Taylor was beating his son, Simon, when his wife spoke to him and begged him to desist. He let the boy go and attacked his wife. The son went to the rescue of his mother and shot his father, killing him instantly. Taylor was present at the time Stockman killed his son-in-law in Lexington county a year or so ago and was a witness in that case.
