St. Augustine, Aug 5 - Capt. William Taylor, better known to his many friends as "Capt. Bill", died last night at his home in New Augustine shortly after 8 o'clock of heart disease
Capt. Taylor, who was 68 years of age and had reared an exceptionally large family, twenty-five children, twelve of who survive him, as well as his wife. He was a native of Virginia and a Confederate veteran, but had lived for many years in Florida.
Up to recent years Capt. Taylor had enjoyed good health, but for several years past he had been failing, suffering from time to time with a complication of diseases. Recently dropsy of the heart developed and this caused his death.
The body was taken to Bakersville this morning and the funeral was held at that place this afternoon.
