Since you are so recently into the Taylor family network(you did not say which area) I am looking for some ancestors that I have. My personal contact was with them in Wise County and I believe they were farmers or maybe stock traders. I was only 5. My grandmother was a Taylor her family was living close and they were close family wise. I can remember being with the extended group once and we drove there in a few minutes so it could have been in an adjacent county. That was in 1942. Ancestry.com says my grandmother was born 1898-Texas, her mom was Samantha Norris-born 1876- Georgia. Then I am stumped. My grandmother married a Perry Duncan (or the reverse) Wilson she seems to be a 1st born and did not live, for some reason, with the cluster of the rest of the family.
I just found out today, the suggestion maybe there is some Indian heritage, so maybe that is the reason for staying together so close. I hear that a portion of the family still stays the same-together, I do know where. They seem to have some time in Oklahoma, my mother is born there.
