Florence Conklin Schell was born in NY to Daniel (David) Conklin and his wife Catherine (known as Kate) Taxter Conklin in June 1882.

Does anyone know anything about the parents of Kate Taxter or her siblings??? Kate was born in May 1858. According to family stories, her Mother was either part or full Native American. I would LOVE to hear from anyone who knows about this family!

Thanking you,
Sincerely,

My Great Grandmother was Charlotte Taxter Lander and was raised on Taxter Rd. in Tarrytown, NY. She married George Lander and had 5 children, raising them on Church St. Her husband was George Lander, a butcher and her children were: Edward (deceased as a young man) Arthur Lander, Eleanor Lander Reynolds, Edith Lander Frasca, and Ann Lander Hawkins.

Does the name Josephine M Elizabeth Taxter (daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Cashin) mean anything to you?

Josephine married Louis F Allan in the Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington, NY on Nov 26, 1916

My great grandmother was Charlotte Taxter Lander and she grew up on the farm. Across the street was the Riley quarry and that was my other great grandmother, Helen Riley Reynolds. Charlotte was one of a large family and I never met any of them. She married George Lander, a local butcher, and lived her adult life on Church St.

Charlotte and George had several children:
Edward Lander who died young in an accident.
Arthur Lander who lived in Tarrytown until his death.
Eleanor Lander Reynolds who married John A. Reynolds from Irvington. They moved to Connecticut and lived in West Haven until their deaths.
Edith Lander Frasca who married Francis Frasca, a local pharmacist and had twin sons Frank and George. Both Francis and Edith died young and had lived on Tappan Landing Rd.
Ann Lander Hawkins who married Curtis Hawkins. They lived with her parents on Church St. Aside from that, I don't know anyone else.
