I'm looking for info on Harriet married to William John Denson. They may have lived in NY area and possibly then to WI area. One of their children (William E> Ecklor) was my gr grandfather. Would like to find more info on their family. Thanks!

Hello, Linda...I am so happy to have found your posting. We are distantly related!! My grandmother was Helen Irene Taxis, daughter of Gideon Richardson Taxis. Gideon and your Harriet Taxis were siblings! My notes show that Harriet was born in 1841 and married William Eckler, and together they had eight children: Priscilla, George, Frank, Agnes, Charles, Francis, John and William II.

Please respond to me directly at margerice@prodigy.net - look forward to hearing from you!! Marge

Hi Marie- Thanks for getting in touch with me. I've been searching for more on Harriet. I had found out that she married a second time and that it was probably to Levi Place. There is a book called "Pepin County, Wisconsin by the People of Pepin County" that mentions Levi Place and Harriet Eckler. Do you know when they married and anything about her situation in her previous marriage to William Ecklor ? I found that Levi is buried in the Round Hill Cemetery in Pepin County, WI, but I cannot find her buriel place. Her first husband is also buried in the Round Hill Cemetery. Please email me at ( dnl6echt@gotocrystal.net ). I have a little more info to share and can tell you who else to get in touch with about the Taxis. It's very interesting ! Linda

Sorry Valerie, I'm not in touch with any of the Taxis family--my direct links have been with the Ecklors.

Her parents were John Benjamin Taxis 1775-1846 and Jane Elizabeth Stumpf 1730-1795. If you need more information on the Ecklor and Taxis family, please email me privately--I would be glad to share. I have more information and spouses on Harriet also. Linda
