I am also looking for taves but i dont know alot about that part of my family at all i do know that when i was very little they said that the Tave name was French my family lived in california and my grand father was biracial white and black and said he had some native blood also

That is very interesting Amber because I know that a few Taves did move to California by way of East Texas. I am wondering if all of the Taves have some type of relationship. I have also noted on the internet that there are some Taves in France, Russia and Spain -- go figure.
I always thought of it as a Native American name as I said in the previous post.
Thanks for the response - I am just waiting for more information.
Oh yes, I did meet a Tave woman where I work, but she was not very interested in talking about her roots. She appeared embarrassed - she was Africian American.

well that is very intersting also because you said you work with an african american lady who is a tave my father was half african american so i know that my line comes from african american people but i have no contact with that side of my family to know anything where are you from.....?if you talk to this lady please dont say anything about me ok.... what is her name?
