Hi,

My name is Mark Jaffee and I live in Oberlin, Ohio and I am fairly certain that we are seond cousins once removed. I am currently researching my family history and I came across your query in ancestry.com. Here is the information I have: My grandmother, Mary Tave immigrated to the US in 1905 with her husband, Sam Jaffee. Mary,s sister Golda Malke (Goldie) married Louis Gallup and the two of them and their daughter Ida, your grandmother, left Russia and came to the United States about the same time as my grandmother. They had two more children, Sadie and Nathan, who were both born in Columbia, Missouri. So, there are a few discrepancies between the information I have and the information you have, but I think the deciding factor would be your father, who I believe was Jerold A. Kaufman. His birthday was August 9, 1928 and he died on October 18, 2001. I remember meeting him a few times when I was growing up in Youngstown, Ohio. If he was, in fact, your father, then you and I are related.

You can get back to me through ancestry.com, or if you prefer, write to me directly at markjaffee@oberlin.net and let me know if you are who I think you are. I can send you a lot more information about the family then.

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year,

Mark
