Catarino Tavares

I attached a picture of my mother's uncle, Jesus Carrasco, born around 1900 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. The backside of the picture says "Tio Jesus y Catarino Tavares"

My mom says that Catarino Tavares was my grandmother's (and of course Jesus') first cousin, but does not know his parent's names. My grandmother is Paula Carrasco Salazar b. 1898 also from Ojinaga. The picture is probably from around 1920.

I know it's a long shot, but I thought I would just put this out there to see if anyone is related to Catarino.

My mom thinks he died in a car crash on his way to work on a farm in Calfornia.

Thanks!

Surnames: Tavares
My wife is named Maria do Carmo Catarino Tavares but I am sure she is not related to your relative Catarino Tavares. I suppose Catarino is his name and Tavares the surname. My wife's name is Maria do Carmo and the surnames are Catarino Tavares. The surname Catarino was the family name of his mother and Tavares the surname of his father's. So she as well as her two brothers are the first members of the family carrying Catarino Tavares in their names.
But I am curious about the surname of your relative. Did he get it from any portuguese family? If so, do you know the portuguese place where that family lived in Portugal.
